DOG GROOMING

At Abode of the Friendly Toad we pride ourselves on having caring staff who do a beautiful groom of any dog, no dog being too big or too small. Our groomers not only display a great love and passion for dogs but more importantly, they all have a healthy respect for them.

We offer a range of services described below, our prices are competitive and the work is excellent. The grooming room is air conditioned for both summer and winter conditions. We do not sedate dogs, we do not yell at them.  After their groom they are rested in a large crate with a soft mat and a bowl of fresh water waiting for you to collect them. We offer kindness with the safety and comfort of the dog being our first priority.

DIY Bath

Bring your dog in for a bath that you do yourself! State of the art hydrobaths make it so easy - we get the bath ready for you and clean up after you. Shampoo, towels, cologne and dryers are all provided.

Full Service Bath

We do the bath for you! Bring your dog in, go and have a coffee and we will make your dog look and smell fantastic.

Full Groom

A full make-over for your dog! A full clip of the coat, hydrobath and cologne. 

A full groom includes nail clipping, hair removal from the pads of the feet, ears cleaned and the body clipped accordingly. We do all breeds…… Poodles, Schnauzers, Westies, Bedlingtons, all breeds of Spaniels, small, medium and large fluffy dogs……..you name it, we do it!

Recommended every 6 – 8 weeks.

Mini Groom

This is a good for maintenance in between full grooms whether to grow out a short cut or to keep a longer one tidy, we do all of the above without the clip of the body. So it is a ‘face, feet and bum’!!

Recommended every 4 – 6 weeks.

Hand Strip

This is for dogs with the coarse, wiry coat of a terrier. The top coat is “stripped” out using special tools and techniques exposing the undercoat, it rids the dog (and your carpet) of all fur that makes the dog appear ‘untidy’.

Hydrobath, dry, ear cleaning, nail cutting and cologne all included.

Recommended for all terrier dogs like Cairn terriers and wired haired Jack Russell.

Undercoat Strip Out

For dogs that constantly shed. Special tools are used to remove the denseness of the undercoat taking with it the fur that is forever shedding. If this lose hair is left in the coat it can matt and clump up, making the dog hot and uncomfortable, the skin doesn’t dry properly if wet and it holds in grass seeds which can penetrate into the dogs skin creating painful and sometimes dangerous infections.

Hydrobath, dry, ear cleaning, nail cutting and cologne all included.

Recommended for Labradors, Golden Retrievers, German Shepards and all Collie breeds.

Groom-Out

For hairy dogs that don’t shed and don’t need clipping. Some coats just need a really thorough brush-out and de-clump so the fur can ‘move’.

Hydrobath, dry, ear cleaning, nail cutting and cologne all included.

Recommended for Pomeranians and all Spitz breeds.
